Haldane Schmiedte is a Perth based artist who works predominantly with timber as his medium for sculpture and his canvas for painting. Haldane holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts degree from Edith Cowan University, with a major in sculpture. A principle theme in Haldane's work is the nature of time and journey. He tries to express these themes in his sculptural work through the medium of discarded materials and the symbolism of the boat, or vessel.
