Maiya Bristow was born in a small town in the South of England and spent her early years there before moving to Western Australia at the age of 10, where she has lived ever since with her parents and three siblings. Her passion for art has been evident from a young age, with a particular love for drawing and painting animals and human faces.

Maiya pursued her interest in art by studying Visual Art at John Curtin College of the Arts in Fremantle, where she experimented with various mediums, including oil painting, watercolor, and pencil drawing. While she had the opportunity to explore these techniques in school, Maiya is largely self-taught, developing her skills independently over the years.

After completing her education, Maiya transitioned into tattooing, a career that allowed her to expand her artistic style. Tattooing has been a transformative process, as it requires blending her creative vision with the unique needs and preferences of her clients, while also considering the human body as a canvas. This experience has pushed her to grow and refine her work in new and exciting ways.

When not working as a tattoo artist, Maiya continues to draw and create art in her spare time, constantly seeking opportunities to further develop her craft. Over the years, her style has evolved, incorporating surreal elements that add depth and intrigue to her pieces. Maiya’s artistic goal is to explore the surreal world of oil painting and create captivating works that will allow her to establish herself more fully in the world of fine art.
