Amy Marshall

Amy Marshall is a traditionally trained artist who studied Fine Art at Wimbledon School of Art, London. She has always held a deep fascination for portraiture; as a young artist, she obsessively sketched everyday scenes at bus stops, cafés, and parks. Today, this early interest in the ordinary continues to inform her practice as she creates portraits that give validity to the shared experiences of modern motherhood.

Her large-scale, monochrome works capture the tender moments, inner reflections, fears, and aspirations that are part and parcel of modern motherhood. Amy intertwines abstract mark-making and gestural drawing with metallic leaf and handwritten text—often incorporating fragments of song lyrics or poetry. Her influences include the Camden Town Group, the Pre-Raphaelites, Gustav Klimt, and Egon Schiele.

Amy is a multi–award-winning artist who exhibits regularly. Her accolades include the City of Joondalup’s Arts in Focus Award, the Wanneroo Art Award, and the City of Swan Art Award, along with numerous top placements and highly commended recognitions for her photography. Beyond her studio practice, she has created murals for the RSPCA, Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Rescue Centre, and the local café Reid Wright & Co.
