The fire burns low, the peppermint cooling it’s hunger as the ash and smoke swell in the air like a dark beast, tamed by the Yorga’s ritual. The wanil branches swish through the hazy air, stray leaves float into a stream to glide through the water like tiny arks, leaving ripples in the reflected sunset. The women wave these peppermint fans as if in gentle dance.

This series is a testament to the beauty of tradition and a celebration of the wanil. The paintings contain the joy and grace of the peppermint leaf in ceremony.
