This painting depicts the mental load of a working mum with her hands full, along with a huge volume of "to-dos" to track. She is still bold, colourful and bright, and her mental tabs are not necessarily negative in isolation; they are a combination of the important, the meaningful, the banal, the obligatory and the idealistic, along with the random thoughts and detritus of the day-to-day. Collectively, though, the burden is a challenge that threatens to engulf her, making her existence a constant balancing act.
