Central Australian mothers use bush medicine for newborn babies to bring the mothers milk on and it helps to heal the babies’ spirit. The women dig a hole and fill it with coals & crushed dried bush leaves to make a smoke. During ceremony the newborn baby is passed across the smoke several times to heal and settle the baby. The rest of the tribe people also lean into the smoke for healing. The crushed leaves are then used to help heal mental health & heal the cuts/sores for men and women. Seeds are taken from the bush medicine shrub and made into a necklace for the baby to provide protection. The bush medicine can be made into a liquid to share and help heal others outside our culture.
