It's surface carries the raw slip, like earth after wind - textured, unpolished, marked by movement. You can feel the hand in it, the slow building, the patience of clay rising coil by coil. The foot lifts it gently from the ground, not to separate it from the earth, but to give it presence — a pause between weight and air.
Then inside, everything softens.
A satin glaze settles like still water. Light rests there differently. The interior does not announce itself; it receives. It holds space quietly, almost protectively — a calm centre encircled by a tactile, grounded exterior.
This is a vessel of contrasts, but not conflict. Strength outside. Tenderness within. There is a structure and softness in the balance.
Quiet Within is about that private interior we all carry — the smooth, reflective place protected by a textured, weathered shell. It stands steady, elevated slightly, as if reminding us that even the most grounded forms can hold gentleness at their core.
This piece is apart of the 2026 International Women's Day Exhibition 'Her Voice: Stories of Strength & Identity'.
