This is what my culture believes.
In my culture, water is life.
This painting is the heart of that belief big, moving, and alive.
The river carries memory. It washes what is heavy.
It knows our stories, it clears what we don’t need, and it brings us back to ourselves and back to Country.
It moves without stopping, even through hard ground. That is strength.
There is love in this water too
deep, enduring, and wild.
The kind of love that runs like a current, that shapes the land, that never lets go.
This painting is a dedication to my daughter.
