This work is the result of loose materials experimentation and was directly inspired by the galactic phenomena "Aurora Australis"- a spectacle that has been particularly active in WA and Great Southern skies these past few years.

Otherwise known as the Southern Lights- it is caused by charged particles from the solar wind interacting with Earth's magnetic field and atmosphere, resulting in a cascading display of pink, magenta, red and purple light converging with the milky way.

Unfortunately the beauty of the Aurora Australis is often mostly invisible to the naked eye, especially in light-polluted areas. However, by making this piece and sharing it with you: you can still come and join in on the party!
