Original Acrylic on Canvas
Artwork size: 610 x 760 mm
Stertched only ready to hang.
This artwork honours the lineage of women who came before me and after me.
We are not separate from our mothers, our grandmothers, or our great-grandmothers. We were once carried inside our mothers' bodies. And our mothers were once carried inside theirs. We have always been connected. Generations nested inside generations.
It is energy.
It is memory.
It is wisdom.
We carry their resilience in our body.
We carry their unspoken grief.
We carry their strength.
We carry their love.
Generational wounds move through lineage, but so does generational power.
This piece is an acknowledgement of the battles my grandmothers fought - the silence they endured, the survival they embodied, the sacrifices they made so that I could stand here with more voice, more freedom, more choice.
I hold deep gratitude for them.
For their fight.
For their courage.
For the love they passed down.
This artwork is not only about healing wounds. It is about honouring the sacred wisdom encoded in our bloodline.
This piece holds reverence for the women before me and responsibility for the generations to come.
Their strength lives in me.
And my healing becomes their legacy.
This piece is apart of the 2026 International Women's Day Exhibition 'Her Voice: Stories of Strength & Identity'.
