Two Willy Wagtails come down & sing & talk to the indigenous men – “hoy you need to get up & move to the high ground, there’s big rain coming”
The men ignored the behaviour of the birds and stayed on flat land, flat country. The birds continued with their singing & dancing around the men for about a week.
The skies were hot & clear blue. Eventually the men did listen to the Willy Wagtails and moved camp to the high ground & the caves. The birds were still singing & dancing and then a big storm & flood rain came through the country. A big hailstorm started & then flooded the country out.
The men were good and safe as they had moved to higher ground.
When you have one Willy Wagtail around you this is good omen. But two Willy Wagtails together means you need to prepare yourself as danger or something bad is coming. Connect with your family to check if everything is OK.
A Central Australia dreaming passed down from Joanne's mother Pansy Napangardi.
